TheChairmanadvisedthatagendaItem 5 ‘Healthand SafetyPolicy’had beenwithdrawnfromtheagenda.  Indiscussion,it wasconfirmedthatthis agendaitemwouldcomebackto alatermeetingoftheHubCommittee, and wouldsitwithinthe areaof responsibilityof the Lead Memberfor ResourcesandPerformance.

The Chairmanintroduceda discussionpaperthatwas circulatedas partof the agendapapers.  Membersof theCommitteediscussedthespecific rolesassetouton page2 ofthepresentedagenda.

The majorityof LeadMemberswerecomfortablewiththeirPortfoliosand listofassociatedfunctions.  Manyhadalready helddiscussionswith their leadofficers.

It wasRESOLVEDthatunderSection100(A)(4)ofthe LocalGovernment Act 1972,the publicbeexcludedfromthe Meetingforthe undermentioned itemofbusinessonthegroundsthatexemptinformationmay bedisclosed as definedinPartI ofSchedule12Ato theAct.

TheLeadMemberfor Economypresenteda reportof theBusiness DevelopmentGroupManager(page20 to the agenda)thatadvised Membersof thecurrentsituationin respectofOkehamptonRuralBusiness Centreandsuggesteda way forward.  Hesetoutthe backgroundto the issue and whythereporthad nowbeenbroughtto Membersattention,and alsothebenefitsto WestDevonBoroughCouncilifthematterwas progressed.
