Council Tax Discretionary Discount and Reduction Policy

ThePortfolioHolderforHealthandWellbeingpresenteda reportthatset outhowthe Councilcoulduse its discretionarypowerstoassistpersons liablefor CouncilTaxwhoare facingextremehardshiportdistress.  The reportpresenteda newpolicywhichincorporatedthese powerswith the ExceptionalHardshipFundwhichspecificallyprovidedadditionalsupport tocustomers  inreceipt  ofCouncil  Taxreduction.  This  would  allow  all applicationsfor assistancewith CouncilTaxto be consideredunderone frameworkandwouldensureallapplicantsare treatedconsistentlyand fairly.

It  was then  RECOMMENDED  that  Council  be  RECOMMENDED  to approvethe combinedCouncilTaxDiscretionaryDiscount& Reduction Policy.
